FIELD: electrical engineering; starting induction motors.
SUBSTANCE: proposed process for starting induction motors includes voltage supply to stator windings and motor disconnection from supply mains. Voltage of amplitude equal to that of supply voltage is first applied to stator windings and then motor is disconnected from supply mains in sequential time intervals of π/3 electrical degrees from instant of voltage application at supply frequency of 50 Hz (0.0033 s) and switched over to dynamic braking condition for same time of π/3 electrical degrees at supply frequency of 50 Hz (0.0033 s), whereupon voltage of amplitude equal to that of supply voltage is applied again to stator windings.
EFFECT: enhanced quality of starting characteristics.
