FIELD: inorganic compounds technology.
SUBSTANCE: hydrogen peroxide is prepared by alternate hydrogenation and oxidation of one or more anthraquinones and/or tetrahydroanthraquinones in process solution containing at least one solvent for tetrahydroanthraquinones. At least one solvent for anthraquinones includes isodurol in amount 15 to 100 wt % and additionally durol in amounts not exceeding 25 wt % of the total amount of quinone solvents. Isodurol-to-durol weight ratio in process solution equals (1.5-5):1. At least one solvent for tetrahydroanthraquinones includes diisobutylcarbinol and/or tetrabutylurea. Molar ratio of tetrahydroanthraquinones to anthraquinones in process solution is higher than 1:1. From about 50 to about 100 mol % of anthraquinones and tetrahydroanthraquinones are substituted with one ethyl group. Process solution exhibits elevated solubility for anthraquinones and tetrahydroanthraquinones and sufficiently low density to facilitate extraction steps following after hydrogenation and oxidation. Resulting hydrogen peroxide can be used for preparation of bleachers, detergents, and disinfection agents.
EFFECT: enhanced process efficiency.
