FIELD: industrial organic synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: invention provides one-stage process for production of isoprene from formaldehyde and trimethylcarbinol with stoichiometric excess of the latter in presence of acid catalyst, wherein preliminarily mixed starting components are fed into the still of reaction-distillation column, from the top of which products (isoprene and isobutylene) are continuously distilled. Process is conducted at 130-170оС, preferably 150-160оС, at pressure by 20-30% superior to water steam pressure at specified temperature. Conversion of trimethylcarbinol is 80-91.9%. Distillate is separated into water and organic phases. Still product of column is extracted by an organic phase to remove dissolved therein organic products, which are returned into reaction zone. Organic phase is rectified to isolate non-converted raw material and intermediate products.
EFFECT: simplified technology and increased yield of isoprene on converted formaldehyde (up to 95%).
