SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the improved method for oxidation of cyclic hydrocarbons, alcohols and/or ketones to carboxylic acid using oxygen or oxygen-containing gas. Method is carried out in liquid phase in solvent that is taken among protonic polar solvents and aprotonic polar solvents in the presence of catalyst that is soluble in the reaction mixture. Catalyst comprises one soluble compound of manganese and/or cobalt, one soluble compound of chrome and one soluble compound of iron wherein amount of catalyst in the reaction mixture is 0.0001-5%, preferably, 0.001-2 weight % with respect to the reaction mixture. Method using catalyst shows high activity and allows enhancing selectivity and output of the oxidation process.
