FIELD: hydraulic structures, particularly for water line construction.
SUBSTANCE: penstock comprises inner metal lining and reinforced concrete shell in which vent channels are formed. Cross-sectional area of vent channels is from 1 to 10% of total area of reinforced concrete shell cross-section in dependence of its parameters. Vent channels may be formed in cast-in-place concrete shell, in precast reinforced concrete shell panels connected to outer surface of penstock and serve as retained form for reinforced concrete shell construction. Vent channels also may be formed simultaneously in precast reinforced concrete shell panels and in cast-in-place shell. Inner surface of shell panels may be covered with water-proofing layer, for instance with bitumen mastic. Joints between shell panels are sealed.
EFFECT: increased service life or the shell, which is subjected to repeatedly frosting and defrosting.
