WHEEL-MOUNTED SPRINKLER PIPELINE Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: agricultural engineering, in particular, irrigation of farm crops by means of multi-tower front sprinkler machines.

SUBSTANCE: pipeline is made sectional and equipped with sprinkler heads, wheeled supports, drive arranged in the middle of central section, and couplings for connecting pipeline sections. Each coupling is made in the form of two concentrically mounted dismountable assembled bushings, which are positioned for mutual displacement and rotation one relative to another. Outer bushing of coupling is joined by fastening members to flanges of carrier carcass, which is made from pack of bent profiles. Wheeled pair is mounted on mid part of carcass by means of detachable hub. Outer bushing is formed of segment-shaped inserts. Pair of spacer sleeves is mounted in each segment. Inner bushing of coupling is joined to ends of pipes made from high-pressure polyethylene. Branch pipes are located at end parts in pipe cavities. Branch pipe is equipped with entrance portions made in the form of truncated cones and arranged on its outer surface. Branch pipe section is equal to total section area of pipes. Conical entrance parts of threaded semi-couplings are fixed on outer end surfaces of pipes. Inner diameter of openings in flanges of carrier carcass is greater by 1.03-1.05 times diameter of coupling inner bushing. Diametrically oriented slots are formed at ends of threaded semi-couplings of coupling inner bushing. Length of coupling outer bushing is greater than length of inner bushing by 1.2-1.5 times.

EFFECT: prolonged service life and minimal expenditure for maintenance of wheeled pipeline.
