COMPLEX REAGENT STABILIZING POLYMERIC AND LOW-CLAY DRILLING MUDS AND A METHOD OF PREPARATION THEREOF Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: oil and gas production.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to boring oil and gas wells with deviated and horizontal hole profile, in particular to compositions of reagents stabilizing low-density drilling muds with improved rheological and filtration characteristics used when boring producing collectors with reduced formation pressure. Water-based complex stabilizing reagent for polymeric and low-clay drilling muds containing tallow pitch (59-62%) additionally contains lignosulfonates (15-17%), caustic soda (5-6%), and 15-17% of acrylamide/sodium acrylate copolymer with molecular weight 14·10⁶ g/mole as structure-forming agent. Preparation procedure includes dissolving caustic soda in water followed by dissolving all indicated ingredients in tallow pitch, after which mixture of all ingredients is hydrolyzed and simultaneously evaporated at 80-90^оС at stirring and then evacuated to residual moisture 2-3% and alkalinity 8.3-8.5.

EFFECT: created multi-purpose complex reagent efficiently controlling viscosity, filtration, rheological and structural-mechanical properties in clay-free and low-clay drilling fluids at optimal consumption level.
