SUBSTANCE: rig has base, pillars provided with guides, carriages, devices for moving carriages, swivel head, swivel head motors with output shafts, pivots for rotation of the swivel head and cylinders for rotating the swivel head, device for clamping pipes mounted on the swivel head, and pipe holder arranged on the base. The device for clamping drilling pipes or casings could be made of, e.g., a chuck. The longitudinal axes of the pillars, swivel head, device for moving carriages and axis of the pivots are arranged in the same plane. The rotation member is provided with a through opening for receiving the drilling pipe or casing. The longitudinal axes of the devices for moving carriages and shafts of the rotation motors are arranged symmetrically with respect to the axis of the swivel head in the plane of the pillar axes. The top ends of the pillars are rigidly interconnected through the beam provided with large side hollow for drilling pipes and casings.
