FIELD: chemical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: gasifier appropriate for use in chemical, petrochemical, power, and other industries, especially for processing of hydrocarbon-containing feedstock to produce energetic and process gases, has upright gasification chamber, burner with connecting pipes for supplying hydrocarbon-containing gas and oxygen-containing gas, steam-supply collector, nozzles to inject pulverulent hydrocarbon-containing feedstock, gasifying product discharge pipe, slag-removal chamber. Gasifier is further provided with unit consisting of burner disposed in the center of unit above gasification chamber and of nozzles disposed peripherally round the unit above gasification chamber. Gasification chamber is provided, in its upper section, with oxidation zone and, in its lower section, with reduction zone located above slag-removal chamber, ratio of oxidation zone height to reduction zone height being 1:(1-2.5).

EFFECT: increased productivity by enhancing gasification and slag-removal processes.
