FIELD: analytical methods.
SUBSTANCE: when determining acetonitrile in the air working zones of furniture plants and pharmaceutical and varnish-and-paint enterprises, air sample is added to detection cell containing piezoelectric quartz resonator with its electrodes preliminarily coated with 15-25 mcg active sorbent (squalane) film. From difference of oscillation frequency before and after addition of the sample, one calculates resonator response and finds content of acetonitrile from equation: ΔF = 2.36-CA, where ΔF is response of modified piezoquartz resonator, Hz, and CA is concentration of acetonitrile in air sample, mg/m3.
EFFECT: accelerated analytical procedure, avoided use of reagents in sample preparation stage, and simplified analytical equipment.
