FIELD: analytical chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method is based upon selection of sample, preparation of detection unit for operation, detection and calculation of concentration of propionic acid from calibration chart. As detection unit the detection cell provided with quartz piezoelectric vibrator is used. The resonator is preliminary modified by acetone solution of polystyrene as substrate and by β-alanine amino acid solution in such a way that weight of film after dissolver is removed would equal to 10-15 kg and 20-25 kg after β-alanine is applied. Analytical signal is registered in 45 second after sample is introduced.
EFFECT: higher intensification of process of determination of vapors; elimination of sample preparation stage; reduced time for preparation of detection unit.
