FIELD: industrial organic synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: high-purity mono(ethylene glycol) is obtained from ethylene oxide hydrolysis product involving distilling off water at pressure, vacuum evaporation of water, and subsequent distillation purification, process being distinguished by that at least first pressure-distillation column in column series is provided with stripping unit having at least one separation step and a part of top stream of the water distillation column(s) operated at pressure and equipped by stripping unit is deviated from the process, provided that temperature in zone below feed-supply point in the first column is higher than 80оС while pressure in stripping unit is at least 1 bar.
EFFECT: enabled production of high-purity mono(ethylene glycol) without use of special materials.
