FIELD: production of rolled stock from scrap for obtaining blanks for casting-and-rolling process.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes charging stainless steel scrap containing chromium in electric arc furnace, melting this scrap, pouring molten metal into converter, initial blowing of metal in converter by mixture of oxygen and argon at ratio of 1:1 for 30- 40 min followed by blowing with argon for 2-3 min. Upon completion of melting, steel is delivered to continuous teeming machine for forming the blanks for rolling process. Prior to charging the scrap into electric arc furnace, it is cleaned from admixtures. Content of chromium in scrap shall exceed its content in steel by 10-15%.
EFFECT: reduction of time required for process; improved quality of steel.
