FIELD: steel making. SUBSTANCE: in a method including smelting intermediate product, its oxidative refining to reach predetermined temperature and content of carbon in smelt below the second critical concentration, oxidative refining process, at reaching carbon content below 0.1%, is carried out additionally affecting smelt to attain affinity of carbon to dissolved oxygen higher than affinity of other smelt components. Such action is accomplished by adding 10-100 kg/t of charge provision containing 5-40% oxide material and metal-containing alloy (to 100%). In particular, as metal-containing alloy, alloys are used based on iron and/or manganese and/or chromium and, as oxide material, oxides of corresponding metals. EFFECT: stabilized process and reduced oxygen consumption (by 5-10%). 3 cl, 1 tbl
