FIELD: inorganic compounds technology.
SUBSTANCE: recovery of gallium from solid gallium-containing materials, including aluminum production waste, is achieved by treating initial material with alkali solution to give solid residue and mother liquor, after which mother liquor is subjected to two-step carbonization followed by separation of formed gallium concentrate, transferring it into gallate solution and electrochemical reduction of gallium. According to invention, above-mentioned solid residue is rinsed with water and thus obtained rinsing water is carbonized in one step separately from mother liquor to give gallium concentrate, which is combined with gallium concentrate obtained by carbonization of mother liquor.
EFFECT: reduced loss of gallium during recovery operation.
