METHOD AND DRILL FOR STRIP SOWING OF GRASS SEEDS INTO SOD AND LOCAL APPLICATION OF MINERAL FERTILIZER Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: agricultural production.

SUBSTANCE: method involves sowing grass seeds and mineral fertilizer into mechanically destructed sod; sowing fertilizer by row method axially of strip below grass seeds by value equal to difference of fertilizer and seed embedding depth; sowing grass seeds by broadcasting method in strips having width equal to width of mechanically destructed strip of sod. Drill has carrier-drive wheel, rotavation section equipped with tillage knives and sod tillage depth adjustment mechanism and covered with housing, fertilizer and seed boxes with seeding units and respective drives, seed and fertilizer guides, and covering roll, with all said parts being mounted on frame. Seed and fertilizer guide is made in the form of cylindrical pipe with beveled discharge end defining ellipse with horizontal small axis. Cylindrical pipe is divided along the entire length on small ellipse axis by partition into two channels. First channel defined by flat partition and lower part of cylindrical pipe is communicated with fertilizer guide and second channel defined by flat partition and upper part of cylindrical pipe is communicated with seed guide. Width of strip to be sown with seeds may be increased by means of guiding ribs formed at discharge end of flat partition and diverging from longitudinal axis toward partition periphery.

EFFECT: simplified method and construction and increased yield.
