FIELD: agricultural engineering, in particular, equipment for drilling of grass seeds in sod.

SUBSTANCE: sod drill has frame with front carrier-drive wheels and rear wheels. Mounted on frame are reducer with chain drive for seed sowing and fertilizer sowing units, fertilizer and seed boxes, fertilizer and seed pipes, covering rolls, rotavator sections equipped with soil tillage knives and closed with housings, fertilizer and seed guides. Housing has additional trough-shaped guides conforming in shape with housing outer surface and terminating in their lower part with soil deformers. Seed guide is equipped with sides preventing coming-off of seeds from seed guide. Soil deformer is formed as set of repetitive troughs having height at least equal to seeding depth and is made spring-loaded. Width of soil deformer is equal to width of strip to be tilled. Rotavator section is driven from tractor power shaft through cardan shaft, coupling, and reducer. Drill is moved from transport position to operating position by means of hydraulic cylinder.

EFFECT: uniform distribution of grass seeds through depth and width of strip and, accordingly, increased field emergence, effective utilization by seeds of fertilizer nutritive elements during development phase and, as a consequence, increased grass yield.
