FIELD: shipbuilding; testing portlights of submersible vehicles for tightness and strength.
SUBSTANCE: proposed chamber is used for testing portlights 1 of submersible vehicles placed in cylindrical body (welded-on piece) 2 provided with bearing flange 11. Body 4 of chamber is partially made in form of spherical surface and is provided with coupling flange 9 with inner circular bead 10 for embracing portlight 1. Hold-down device for holding body 4 to welded-on piece 2 is made in form of bandage ring 15 with sectionalized circular insert 16 inside it; their contact surfaces are made in form of surface of truncated cone. Circular insert 16 is provided with circular slot for embracing simultaneously bearing flange 11 and coupling flange 9. Ring 15 is tightened up by hold-down bolts 17 for continuous engagement with circular insert 16 and tight clamping of spherical body 4 through seal. Working medium is fed inside body 4 from external pressure source.
EFFECT: reduced time of tests; enhanced reliability.
