FIELD: plastic working of metals, in particular, manufacture of hollow spherical articles.
SUBSTANCE: method involves placing tubular blank of predetermined diameter and wall thickness in die between two hemispherical halves in axially aligned relation with respect to cylindrical stop and deforming by bringing die halves together while providing contacting of blank ends with cylindrical stop, with contacting of blank ends with stop being provided in case of availability of gap between die halves. Gap value is determined by testing. Length of blank is selected on condition that blank and article to be manufactured have equal volume. Blank ends are made in the form of conical surfaces with apexes of cones being arranged axially of blank axis and facing one another.
EFFECT: improved quality by providing stable geometric shape of articles.
