FIELD: processing of liquid metal outside furnace.

SUBSTANCE: method involves supplying gas through nozzles arranged in refractory stopper fixed in ladle bottom; exciting gas by providing elastic vibrations generated in vibration jet resonator; regulating vibration frequency by changing depth and volume of vibration resonator; determining depth of resonator from ratio: hr=(Kr·bvdb-dgb±bv·Kr·hnrv-

)l/n, where db is required diameter of gas bubble, micron; dgb is initial diameter of gas bubble, micron; Kr, bv are coefficients; hrv is depth of vibration resonator corresponding to elastic vibration basic frequency, mm; n is extent factor.

EFFECT: uniform flowing of supplied gas over the entire section of purging apparatus and provision for producing gas flow with designed size of gas bubble, improved quality of metal and increased strength of purging stoppers.
