METHOD FOR EXTRACTING PACKER FROM SLANTED WELL Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: oil and gas extractive industry.

SUBSTANCE: method includes lowering into inner hollow of lifting column of detaching tool, performing operations for detaching packer, raising detaching tool from well. After that cutting device is lowered into lifting column down to upper edge of circulation valve. With use of said device lifting column is cut above circulation valve. Cutting device is raised from the well. Then cut portion of lifting column is raised from the well. Marker is lowered into remaining portion of lifting column in the well on drilling pipes and is connected to upper portion of lifting column remaining in the well. After that headpiece of lifting column is detached from bayonet lock. Lifting column remaining in the well is extracted onto the surface. Into well, into inner hollow of bayonet lock on drilling pipes a lifting column headpiece is lowered together with mechanical and hydraulic catchers. Headpiece of lifting column is connected to packer in bayonet lock. Then packer jammed in operation column is freed by consecutive downward hits of mechanical catcher, tensioning column and upward hits by hydraulic catcher until packer is broken free. After that packer is raised onto surface. In case of jamming of packer repeated freeing of packer is performed by mechanical and hydraulic catchers according to analogical method.

EFFECT: possible extraction of packer from wells having shaft slant angle more than 35° and with complicated shaft profiles, for further use.
