FIELD: petroleum industry.
SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method identifying sources of formation of stable water- oil emulsions and is dealt with petroleum industry, in particular, with the late stage of oil fields development. The method identifying sources of formation of stable water- oil emulsions provides for collection and transportation of the boreholes products up to the system of the products treatment, sampling and the samples physicochemical analysis. Before the sampling they pump an indicator in the borehole and before or at the beginning of the system of treatment they conduct a photometric analysis of production of the boreholes for contents of the indicator in the dense layer of the water-oil emulsion and (or) in the water phase. Ammonium thiocyanate or fluorescein may be used in the capacity of the indicator. The method allows to exclude formation of stable emulsions in the boreholes produced oil products.
EFFECT: the invention allows to exclude formation of stable emulsions in the boreholes produced oil products.
