METHOD OF INDICATING INVESTIGATION OF WELLS AND INTERWELL SPACE Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC E21B47/11

Abstract RU 2577865 C1

FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: method has stages when: injection and monitoring production wells are selected. Conditions are determined of substances used as indicators of filtration flows. The required volume of a tracer fluid and indicator quantity are determined. The tracer fluid, i.e. water or a water solution of chemical with a stable or radioactive indicator is injected in the injection well. The well is started, from the wellhead of control production wells produced water samples are periodically taken, and physical and chemical analysis for the indicators content is performed. The data are interpreted: upon identification in the produced product of tracers the conclusion is made on the presence of the well watering, behind-the-casing flows, damage of the string tightness. By the comparison of the indicator relative output with the relative liquid output from the production well the well watering due to a foreign source is determined: behind-the-casing flows, damage of the string tightness, from another adjacent injection well, where the indicator is not injected. Wherein the relative output of liquid QLi is the ratio of the total volume of liquid produced from i-th production well during the study period to the total quantity of water injected in the reservoir during the same time period. The relative output of the indicator MOTi is the ratio of the total weight of the indicator taken from the given well during the study period to the input weight of the indicator Mo injected in the reservoir. If QLi/MOTi>1 then water enters the well from a foreign source.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of the determination of reasons of produced water high content in the produced product as per wells with an absent settling well.
