FIELD: industrial organic synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: hydroperoxide decomposition process to form mixture containing corresponding alcohol and ketone comprises following stages: adding water in amount 0.5 to 20% to hydroperoxide-containing mixture; removing a volume of water so that water-soluble impurities were removed with water; removing the rest of water so that reaction mixture contained not more than 2% water; decomposing hydroperoxide by bringing reaction mixture into contact with catalytic amount of heterogeneous catalyst containing supported gold.
EFFECT: increased degree of conversion.
