FIELD: study of building composite materials lining blocks, floor plates, curb-stones, foundation blocks, plumbing pipes, drain chutes).

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes determination of average density of material, calcination of specimen made from this material, determination of mass of specimen residue, calculation of real density of material taking into account mass of residue, real density of sulfur and filler followed by calculation of total porosity of material by its real and average densities; when use is made of thermally stable or unstable fillers, additional calcination of filler is performed simultaneously with calcination of specimen and determination of mass of residue of filler, calculation of real density ρreal, g/cu cm is performed by the following formulae: mf=mres/(l-(mw-m)/mw), ms=msp-mf, Vw=mwf, vS=mSS, ρf=msp/(vf +vs), where mf is mass of filler, g; mres of residue of specimen under test after calcination g; mw is mass of weighed portion of filler, g; m is mass of residue after calcination of weighed portion of filler, g; ms is mass of sulfur, g; msp is mass of said specimen, g; vf is volume occupied by filler cu cm; vs is volume occupied by sulfur, cu cm; ρs is real density of sulfur, g/cu cm; ρf is real density of filler, g/cu cm.

EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of determination of real density in aggressive, frost-resistant and atmosphere-resistant media.
