FIELD: plasma accelerators.
SUBSTANCE: proposed plasma accelerator has plasma chamber whereto working gas is supplied and ionized therein so that plasma jet is produced about longitudinal axis. Accelerator accommodates electrodes for building up potential difference that functions as accelerating field for positive charged ions in acceleration region parallel to longitudinal axis. Accelerator is provided with device for feeding focused electron beam to plasma chamber and for its control by means of magnetic system. Novelty is that plasma chamber is annular in shape around longitudinal axis with radial internal and external walls. Electron beam arrives at chamber in the form of hollow cylindrical beam. Plasma chamber magnetic system has internal and external magnets, each being provided with unlike-polarity poles isolated in longitudinal direction.
