METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DIAGNOSING EVOKED BRAIN POTENTIAL Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2240036 C1

FIELD: medicine; medical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method involves acting upon subject with short duration signal, filtering evoked brain activity in narrow band with central filtration frequency varied and subtracting the filtered signal from the evoked brain activity signal. To analyze the signal, two long-latency evoked potential component search time intervals are set for determining minimum signal value for the first interval and maximum for the second one. Absolute value of difference between the maximum and minimum values is compared to a coefficient K value established in experimental way and conclusions are drawn concerning present or missing long-latency evoked potential of patient brain. The device enables one to record the long-latency evoked brain potential.

EFFECT: accelerated procedure and high accuracy of potential recording.
