FIELD: machine engineering, namely process for eat treatment of backup and supporting rollers of complex-alloyed modified steels.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of heating rollers in furnace until quenching temperature 850 - 870°C for 1.5 - 2 h; then realizing intensive differentiated water cooling of working surfaces for 1.5 min in order to quench for martensite (on surface HRC = 53 or more, in depth h = 20 mm HRC = 45 or more); lowering cooling intensity for providing hardness on inner surface HRC = 40 or less; performing low tempering until 180 ± 10°C; and further HF-current tempering of inner surface until 600 - 650°C at rate 4 - 6є C/s by depth 10 - 15 mm for providing hardness HRC = 30 or less. Quenching of working surfaces of rollers for high hardness and large depth allows to increase their wear resistance and resource by 1.5 - 2 times. Low hardness of inner surface subjected to finish working provides possibility for using standard cutting tool without severe demands to its strength.

EFFECT: improved wear resistance, increased useful life period of rollers.
