FIELD: building, particularly roofs for large telescopes.
SUBSTANCE: roof comprises support part mounted on base and having two similar gates arranged symmetrically relative vertical dome central plane. Each gate may rotate around horizontal axis with the use of swinging mechanism. When gates are moved to extreme position in which gates are brought together gate edges form observation slit. Roof has additional gate, which may partly close another gates from outer sides thereof in closed roof position. Additional gate may rotate relative horizontal axis by rotary means. Axis of additional gate rotation is located in above vertical plane below axis of another gate rotation.
EFFECT: reduced mass and size.
