FIELD: nuclear power engineering; controlling position of fast reactor core components.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device that incorporates provision for dispensing with turning the rotary protective gear to locate and determine size of any obstacle between core components and protruding parts of protective gear and also for eliminating error when setting mechanical clearance gage in horizontal position has drive, casing, shaft rotating about its axis, and mechanical clearance gage installed at right angle to shaft. The latter is made in the form of tube and disposed concentrically to casing mounted for rotation about its axis. Mechanical clearance gage is hinged through levers to slides placed in shaft inner space wherein they are contacting each other due to adjusting arrester of top slide. Top slide is coupled through control rod with drive and bottom slide is provided with thrust arrester affording contact between device and fuel assemblies of core.
EFFECT: enhanced safety in reactor refueling operations.
