FIELD: agricultural engineering.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus has frame, share mounted on frame, beater positioned above share, and rod-type separating drum axially aligned with beater. Beater has diameter Db equal to two diameters db of rod-type drum and is made in the form of drum carrying cantilevered radial elastic blades. Diameter of rod-type separating drum is equal to half the mean length of onion tops in their natural state. Said drum is made from rods fixed from free rotation by springs mounted on sides of drum. Gap between rods of rod-type separating drum exceeds minimal diameter of onion, but is less than mean diameter of onion. Screw with left-hand and right-hand coils extending from mid portion thereof is rigidly mounted inside rod-type separating drum on its shaft. Diameter of screw is equal to 0.8 the inner diameter of rod-type separating drum. Length of screw is equal to distance between sides of said drum, and screw coil pitch is equal to size of inner diameter of rod-type separating drum. Drum sides are equipped with windows for removal of contaminants therefrom, with section area of windows being equal to section area of screw coil. Diameter of beater is equal to two diameters of rod-type separating drum.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and separating capacity of apparatus, reduced damage to roots and onion and loss of product.
