FIELD: petroleum processing and petrochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing of heavy hydrocarbon feedstock with high levels of sulfur and metals in order to produce light gasoline fractions and aromatic hydrocarbons, in other words, to conversion processing scheme involving hydrofining and pyrolysis of high-boiling hydrocarbon fractions to produce solutions containing aromatic compounds or gaseous olefins. Invention can also be used to process heavy high-sulfur petroleums, high-boiling petroleum-processing residues, gas condensates, natural occurring bitumen, bituminous sands, and the like. Method of intension comprises hydrofining of feedstock with water/molybdenum/feedstock ratio (0.005-0.05):(0.001-0.002):1 at heating and elevated pressure in presence of molybdenum sulfide as catalyst, which is formed in reaction zone from reaction of, dispersed in feedstock, water and molybdenum-containing salt with sulfidizing agent, in particular aqueous solution of ammonium sulfide or polysulfide, at clissolved sulfur-to-dissolved molybdenum ratio (0.6-3.2):1. Subsequent separation or vacuum distillation of hydrofined fractions gives low-and high-boiling hydrocarbon fractions. After vacuum distillation, fraction boiling up to 500oC is pyrolized at 650-720oC at reaction zone residence time 1.2-0.6 see to give largely aromatic hydrocarbons, in the form of pyrolysis tar or at 720-850oC and residence time 1.5-0.3 sec, to give largely ethylene and propylene in the form of leaving gas phase.
EFFECT: increased assortment of commercial products on the same equipment, reduced volume of process streams, increased yield of products, and enabled utilization of feedstocks with elevated sulfur levels.
