FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: furnace has cylindrical body with lining, upper and lower electrode blocks connected to power grid through device for distributing current among electrodes, temperature sensors, while each of said electrode blocks is made in form of one or three electro-insulated from each other electrodes mounted at equal space from each other. Device for distributing current among electrodes is made in form of three-phase power circuit including three power transformers and voltage adjusters of primary circuit, or in form of power semiconductor keys connected to additionally inserted control system, to which timers and current sensors are connected.
EFFECT: higher quality, lower costs.
