SUBSTANCE: proposed core used in particular for type VVER-440 reactors is characterized in that water-to-uranium ratio of its fuel assembly spacer grid, outer and inner diameters of fuel element can are 0.98 to 2.52 and 7.00 m · 10-3 to 8.00· 10-3 m, and 5.94 · 10-3 to 6.79 · 10-3 m, respectively, for fuel assemblies incorporating 174 to 216 fuel elements, or water-to-uranium ratio of fuel assembly spacer grid, outer and inner diameters of fuel element can are 1.14 to 2.76, 7.80 · 10-3 to 8.79 · 10-3 m, and 6.62 · 10-3 to 7.47 · 10-3 m, respectively, for fuel assemblies incorporating 132 to 168 fuel elements; ratio of core height to fuel assembly length is 0.7488 to 0.7897.
EFFECT: reduced linear heat loads and fuel element depressurization probability, enlarged reactor power variation range, improved fuel utilization.
