FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: wireless transmission of electrical energy over long distances is effected by initiating electrical discharge with aid of laser radiation where instead of using long-focus optical systems for producing plasma channel relatively short-focus optical system is generated by joint repetitive power impact onto surrounding atmosphere with aid of intensive laser radiation and transmitted electron charge pre-accelerated to relativistic energies or those close to them. Device implementing this method has system accelerating electrons whose charge is to be transmitted to relativistic energies or those close to them, plurality of identical relatively short-focus lensless optical objectives reconstituted sequentially through entire length of electron charge motion path by periodically repeated joint power action of laser radiation source lasing pulses and electrical charge of accelerated electrons on gas medium (atmosphere). Laser radiation source intensity is chosen to ensure self-focusing of lasing pulse. Electric field intensity in near-charge area is chosen to ensure leading mechanism of motion of charge and its energy, and delay time between arriving laser radiation pulses is chosen to provide for identical reconstitution of lensless short-focus objective throughout entire length of charge motion path. Device may also incorporate system for cumulating primary relativistic electrons into bundle of electrons in region limited to a certain extent so as to afford conditions encouraging electrical breakdown in atmosphere and electric charge movement in atmosphere by means of leading mechanism.

EFFECT: simplified design of device, enlarged power transmission distance.
