FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of creating current-conducting channels in non-conducting medium involves movement of an optical focusing system in the medium and guiding pulsed-periodic laser radiation onto the medium. Energy of the pulses satisfies breakdown conditions of the medium at the focus of the optical system and the pulses have recurrence frequency of 10 kHz - 1 mHz. The focusing system has a source for creating medium in the vicinity of the focus in form of easily ionisable substance which sublimates under effect of incident laser radiation. This substance contains metal nanoparticles or enables their synthesis.
EFFECT: easy transmission of electrical energy in a non-conducting medium.
