FIELD: agricultural microbiology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preparing a preparation used in fodder storing ensilage. Invention proposes the strain Bacillus subtilis 24 D (VNIISCHM № 129) with the high antagonistic activity with respect to putrefactive microorganisms occurring in storing ensilage. Addition of the preparation to mass to be ensilaged inhibits multiplication of pathogenic microorganisms and provides preparing the high quality fodder. The proposed strain is effective for storing ensilage of difficultly ensilage plants with low sugar content, such as rape, goat's-rue (Galega officinalis) and others. This method for storing ensilage is tested and showed the positive results. Invention provides enhancing quality of fodder obtained.
