FIELD: oil refining and chemical and gas industries.
SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a packing for a mass-transfer apparatus. The packing for the mass-transfer apparatus is pertinent to the contact devices for realization of mass-transfer processes between two phases and may be used in oil refining, chemical, gas and other industries. The packing contains a hollow member shaped as a volumetric body made out of a strip. At that the strip has a form of a profiled launder, turned inside or outside the volumetric body, which is made in the form of a single-start or a multi-start spiral with a pitch smaller than the length of the launder development. The multi-start spiral convolutions in the adjoining layers are crossing over and (or) displaced in respect to each other by a half of a start. Besides the launders are made in the form of "V","U" or "n"-shape profile. The invention allows to increase efficacy of a mass transfer of a dump packing at the expense of augmentation of its specific surface and to improve distribution of streams of the contacting phases.
EFFECT: the invention allows to increase efficacy of a mass transfer of a dump packing and to improve distribution of streams of the contacting phases.
