FIELD: building, particularly construction of motor road embankments with the use of heat-insulation materials, for thermal protection of ground base under building foundation, ground around pipeline and so on.
SUBSTANCE: heat shield to prevent ground freezing or thawing has two-layered structure. Heat shield is formed of materials having thermal-conductivity coefficients and volume humidity defined by given correlations. Thickness of each layer is selected to comply with requirements of summary shield thickness minimum and also defined by given correlations.
EFFECT: reduced shield thickness in comparison with single-layered structure, reduced heat insulation material consumption, possibility to use cheaper materials having low thermal insulation properties and in-situ materials, reduced building time, increased structure strength.
