FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: method for erecting a road embankment on permafrost with increasing permafrost and general stability includes allowing thawing the soil of the active layer at the embankment base (with a reserve for setting) during operation. In the lower part of the embankment, a weakly water-permeable soil is laid in a layer with a thickness determined from the ratio: 1.3≥Hfr/Hth≥1.0 (1), where Hfr and Hth are the depth of freezing and thawing of the embankment and the active base layer (with the moisture of initially unstable soil layers, with a compaction ratio of 0.90), m. The initially unstable layer, in the lower part of the embankment, is arranged from temporarily substandard (overmoistened and/or frozen) soil, mainly, using reinforcing layers (from geosynthetics, geomembranes, geocomposites, etc.), and while reinforcing, the above condition is complied with. After that, the upper stable (working) layer from standard or draining soil is poured out (pushed "from the head" on thawed soil) and compacted. Then, unstable layers are rapidly consolidated by the dynamic action of the traffic flow motion.

EFFECT: increasing the speed and environmental friendliness of constructing road embankments on permafrost with strengthening their permafrost and general stability in conditions of global warming.
