FIELD: oil pollution elimination.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental protection and can be used for removing oil or other water-immiscible liquids from water surfaces or ground when eliminating consequences of accidents or catastrophes. Polluted surface is treated with sorbent, oil-loaded sorbent is collected and transported to squeezing mechanism, after which returned to the region of surface being treated. As sorbent, polyurethane foamed plastic is recommended and polluted surface is treated with semirigid foamed plastic having apparent density 8-12 kg/m3 and pore size 0.3-1.2 mm, which is preliminarily cut into plates of any size or in the form of crumb. Sorbent is laid onto desired surface being preliminarily packed in mesh bags.
EFFECT: enhanced surface cleansing efficiency.
