FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: polyurethane sorbent of hydrocarbons is a product of a reaction of a mixture of components - component A of elastic and rigid polyurethane foams in mass ratios from 20:80 to 80:20, respectively, and component B, containing aromatic isocyanate or isocyanates, and their composition with low-molecular polyols, taken as a sum of the ration A:B=1.0:0.6-1.3, and up to 60 wt % of the mixture from wastes of grain products like husks of buckwheat or rice or their mixture with up to 50 kg/m3 apparent density. The sorbent is in form of crumps with nominal diameter from 0.5-4.0 cm, or in form of mats or floating booms. The method of cleaning aqueous media and solid surfaces from hydrocarbon pollution involves their treatment with the proposed polyurethane sorbent of hydrocarbons.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of cleaning water and solid surfaces from oil and petroleum products during containment of accidents and disasters.
