FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cooling systems of internal combustion engines, mainly, power units of locomotive. Proposed cooling system contains inlet and outlet louvers, sections of radiator in which liquid heat carrier is cooled by air, fans and electric motors to drive fans. Fans are of cross-flow design, with length equal to length of mounted sections of radiator arranged directly in passage part of fan. Position of inlet louvers is changed by control unit depending on signal from engine heat carrier temperature transmitter.
EFFECT: reduced pressure losses, provision of uniform distribution of cooling air, saving of energy.
