MECHANISM FOR ROCKING MOLD OF CONTINUOUS CASTING MACHINE Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: metallurgy, namely mechanisms for rocking mold of continuous casting machines.

SUBSTANCE: mechanism includes table of mold; upper and lower guides, each guide is secured by its one end to stationary framework and both guides are placed in planes forming dihedral angle; apparatus for tensioning guides in the form of two ram cylinders arranged symmetrically relative to lengthwise axis of framework. Housings of cylinders are jointly secured to framework and they are rigidly coupled one to other through synchronizing shaft. Rams of cylinders are secured table of mold by means of articulation joints in the form of members elastic in radial direction. Cylinders of tensioning apparatus are placed in bisector plane of dihedral angle in planes of which upper and lower guides are arranged.

EFFECT: manufacture of high-quality billets due to creating tensioning efforts in upper and lower guides of rocking mechanism at any time moment of mold operation.
