FIELD: polymer materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention provides structurally modified water-soluble polymers obtained via polymerization of monomers in aqueous solution for use as clarifiers of organic substances. Structurally modified nonionic, cationic, or anionic water-soluble polymer contains a mixture of linear polymer and long-chain branched polymer with specific viscosity above 3 dl/g. Polymer is prepared by initiation of polymerization of monomers in aqueous solution under free radical polymerization conditions to form polymer solution, to which at least one structure modifier is added when at least 30% of monomers are polymerized.
EFFECT: increased polluted water cleaning efficiency due to elevated dissolution rate of polymers and lowered viscosity thereof.
