FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: claimed invention relates to method for anionic dispersion polymerisation, in particular, to method of obtaining anionic highly molecular water-soluble dispersion polymer. Described is method for anionic dispersion polymerisation, in which polymerisation is improved by means of organic isothiocyanate, which includes alkylisothiocyanate, with said method including free-radical polymerisation of mixture, containing: i) water-soluble anionic ethylene-unsaturated monomer and/or water-soluble non-ionic ethylene-unsaturated monomer, ii) possibly non-ionic hydrophobic ethylene-unsaturated monomer, iii) modifier, including organic isothiocyanate, iv) stabiliser, v) initiator, vi) water-soluble salt and vii) water.

EFFECT: control of polymerisation reaction rate and obtaining anionic highly molecular water-soluble polymers, useful as flocculants and, in particular, as retaining and draining additives in paper production.
