FIELD: biochemical methods.
SUBSTANCE: basic dye for histological application is prepared from vegetable raw material, in particular onion peel, which is preliminarily disintegrated and then extracted with boiling water. Extract solution is filtered and evaporated. 4-5 g of dry extract is dissolved in 100 ml of 70% ethanol, after which 12 g of potassium alum and 10 ml of ice acetic acid are added to give desired dye.
EFFECT: simplified preparation procedure.
