NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING OF MAXIMUM DETECTION OF DEFECTS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2243547 C2

FIELD: instrument engineering.

SUBSTANCE: test-sample is made in form of item which has three types of defects: first two types of defects imitate defects of exploitation and the third type imitates technological defects. Test-sample is subject to nondestructive testing. Any new test is performed by a new operator. Number of tests are defined by the condition that two previous operators didn't haven't observed any new defects. Characteristic of defects found by testing are compared with characteristics of specified defects and plot of total probability of defect detection against characteristic sizes of defect is built. Testing is finished when plot is achieved which does not change its position when making any other new test.

EFFECT: improved reliability of testing.
