SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to form cap on pneumatic tire tread, both on new pneumatic tire and on carcass of pneumatic tire to be repaired. Proposed flexible recapper is designed to form tread cap in unvulcanized state covering carcass of vulcanized pneumatic tire. Said recapper is made of rubber material and it contains device to limit its diameter at compression. Said diameter limiter contains at least one circular groove made on outer surface of recapper and provides placing of metal elements adjoining each other, with recapper at rest, to form metal crown. Invention provides possibility of checking depth of thread design on raw cap of tread.
EFFECT: provision of recapping of pneumatic tire.
