FIELD: mechanical tests including those for mechanical durability and creep of nuclear reactor material specimens.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device has housing holding one or more specimens, power rod, supporting flange, flexible calibrated member for building up axial thrust of load, all placed in sealed capsule. Supporting flange is mounted in housing for reciprocation; before and after irradiation this supporting flange abuts against housing to impart axial thrust of load to specimen through housing; in the course of irradiation supporting flange abuts against sealed capsule to transfer axial thrust of load to specimen through sealed capsule. In addition device is provided with external shell that has holes to pass directed coolant flow.
EFFECT: enhanced precision and stability of axial thrust of load on specimens that ensures enhanced reliability of test results; enlarged functional capabilities, simplified design of device.
